The Actual NCAAF Bowl Preview Part 1

Written by:

I am fairly certain I can just post this whole thing and update it as I go. That is what I plan to do.

Here is a declarative statement: I am not the most keen man in the world when it comes to opt-ins and outs for bowl games. Games I bet officially have enough backing for me to feel good publicizing those picks. (And came from my HUMONGOUS brain). For this article? I am almost always talking writing as if a team was at full strength. And that should be enough for all you Jarv-Heads.

Let’s go bowling:

SATURDAY 12/16

(It is late Friday, so these probably will be shorter than typical (and the previews that follow))

Mrytle Beach Bowl: Georgia Southern (6-6) (-2.5) vs. Ohio (9-3) o/u 49: From what I’ve gathered, Ohio has a ton of players sitting out. No official play here, but it feels like the line is telling us who is going to win. There is no reason one of the top defenses in the MAC should be an underdog on a neutral field. #Think about it

Cricket Celebration Bowl: Howard (6-5) vs. Florida A&M (11-1) (-7) o/u 50: At the risk of being controversial; I think its fair to say that this game had a ton more luster when Coach Prime’s Jackson State team was playing. I am fairly certain this is the HBCU/FCS(?) Championship Game? Truthfully: I have not seen either of these teams play a snap this year. The way I see it, there is one notable game on the schedule for each team. For Howard: a 23-20 loss @ Northwestern and for FAMU: a 38-34 loss @ USF. Do with that information what you will.

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl: Jacksonville State (8-4) (-3.5) vs. Louisiana (6-6) o/u 58: There is an official play on the Ragin’ Cajuns catching a field goal plus a hook to kick off bowl season for Mr. Jarvis. The game is at the SuperDome, which will most likely give ULL some sort of home-field advantage in the stands. I understand that getting in front of Rich Rodriguez’s team after the best(?) season in program history feels like asking for a problem. I’m just simply not afraid of them. I took LOUISIANA +3.5; and wouldn’t be surprised if they win this game outright.

Avocados From Mexico Cure Bowl: Miami (Ohio)  (11-2) vs. Appalachian State (8-5) (-6.5) o/u 41.5: Insert exactly what I said regarding Ohio, but this time the team is from Miami, Ohio. If my memory is not failing me (which it does a little more every day (25 years old #uh oh)) the Miami Ohio squad are our MAC Champions! There is no reason that team should be a TD underdog to App State. Unless; our good friends in Vegas know something. #Think about it. There is so much learning to be done form this article.

Isleta New Mexico Bowl: New Mexico State (10-4) (-3.5) vs. Fresno State (8-4) o/u 51.5: Diego Pavia vs Mikey Keene? This game will be sneaky very fun! I’ll keep this one short and sweet. NMSU could have been the C-USA Champion this year; I don’t expect Jerry Kill to continue the end of the season free-fall. ESPECIALLY in a neutral site game played in New Mexico. #Somethings

LA Bowl: UCLA (7-5) (-5.5) vs. Boise State (8-5) o/u 47.5: UCLA is beyond a mixed bag. ESPECIALLY at this point in the season. Boise State is rocking with an interim coach who earned the permanent promotion…Depending on how well the 9-0 #CBB #NCAAB Challenge (on X @JBV60SHOW) goes, I’ll most likely be saying #Fuck the points.

Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl: California (6-6) vs. Texas Tech (6-6) (-3.5) o/u 58: Pass. Can I do that? This game truly has me in a mental pretzel Lol. I can legitimately see the final score being 10-7or 38-35. When you have that little of an idea of what is going to happen; sit out. You’ll thank yourself postgame.

So that wraps up Bowl Saturday #1.

I will continue to RT this link, and keep the visibility high.

See you when I see you.

200 years too late.

Be Well.
